William and Hester (Reid) came from Ireland (maybe County Cavan?) and went first to NY state and then to East Gwillimbury, ONtario, Canada.
They had 7 children:
William (about 1806 in NY - 1888) married Elizabeth Doan, moved to California where he was a doctor
children
Maria,b1834 m Job Willson and
Phoebe Titus b1829
John who participated in the 1837 rebellion in Ontario,
Rev Jeremiah (m Jane Burr), children Nancy and David
Hester (m. Rev Will Percy), children Elizabeth, Walter,Lily
Richard and Jane.
Many of the family were Quakers in the Newmarket area and some broke off to join the Children of Peace at Sharon Temple in Sharon, Ontario
