Marion Nora Green (nee Graham) was born September 11, 1913 in Sunnyside, Calgary, Alberta and passed away March 13, 2007 in G.R. Baker Hospital.
She was the youngest in a family of six girls and two boys. The family left Calgary and moved to Vancouver where Marion finished her schooling and worked for a short time for the Vancouver Sun paper. She then moved to Harrison Hot Springs golf course to assist her sister who had an ill child.
While at the golf course she was thrilled to meet track star Percy Williams, and Clark Gable movie actor.
Marion met Harold Green of Agassiz, and the couple married on July 17, 1933 in Oroville Washington. They farmed at Agassiz and raised a family of five daughters.
In 1951 they moved to Quesnel and in 1963 settled at Whitecotton Rd. in Kersley. Marion continued to live there after Harold’s passing in 1989. She enjoyed her flower gardens and took many prizes at the fall fair especially for her roses.
In her later years Marion enjoyed Friday nights out with family for dinner and a side trip to the casino, sometimes quite lucky.
Marion is survived by her loving daughters, Pat (Bob) Mufford, Mary Slack, Shirley Faulkner, Sharon (Jim) Sutton, Bonnie (Ed) Willsie, 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Marion is predeceased by her husband Harold, sons-in-law Bob and Fred, grandchildren, Keith, Leslie, Melvin, great grandchild Leah and parents James and Nora Graham.
Funeral service was held March 19, 2007 at Clayton’s Funeral Chapel with Reverend Teri Meyer officiating, interment in Quesnel and District Municipal Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, John Mufford, Joel Mufford, Kathy Corbeil, Rick Faulkner, Chris Sutton, Randy Willsie.
A reception was held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall with Ladies Auxiliary to the Legion providing the tea.
The family of Marion wish to thank Dr. McFetridge and Dr. Aziz, the nursing staff of G.R. Baker Hospital, especially Skye, Ron of Clayton’s Funeral Directors, Reverend Teri Meyer for her thoughtful service, the Legion Ladies for the tea, and family and friends for flowers, cards and kind words.
A long life, surrounded with love by family and friends.
We miss her.
