My mother's maiden name was Graham. Her family settled in Richmond, VA but I am not sure of the year. I believe her father, John Graham came from Red Bank,NJ before he moved to Richmond.

My mother's brothers were named: Hugh William, John, Robert, and Douglas. All have passed away.

I know you are looking for an older link in Richmond - I am just wondering if there might be ties since my mother's family moved there. This is indeed a difficult search.
