Thanks for the information. Do you know anything about Elizabeth(Goodson)and Richard Palmer's family?
I am researching the Palmers of Perry Co(now Forrest), MS. I have a Mrs. Betsy Palmer who married a William Morehouse in 1836 in Hinds Co, MS. I was trying to connect this Elizabeth who first married ?? Palmer and had at least 2-3 children by him and later married a William Morehouse. I had hoped it might be Elizabeth Goodson (and Richard Palmer), but still have not made any connection.I have only found Richard Palmer on the Lawrence Co, MS census until 1823.
My info on Elizabeth is she is listed as Elizabeth Morehouse on the 1850 Census of Perry Co, MS. Her daughter, Elizabeth Palmer age 20 is living with her and a son John Palmer is nearby.
I do not know Elizabeth's maiden name nor Palmer's first name, so I am grasping at straws. I found the marriage record for Elizabeth Goodson and Richard Palmer in hopes of making a connection.
My interest in the family is through the daughter, Elizabeth Palmer, age 20 on the 1850 Perry Co, MS Census. She is my great great grandmother who married David Wesley Shattles in 1854 in Jackson Co, MS. The John Palmer living near them on the 1850 Perry Co, MS Census is her brother which witnessed the marriage of Elizabeth and David Shattles.
