Matthew Goodson (NC) -- Confederate

I don't know if this will help anyone, but on a recent visit (June 18-20, 2001) to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, I discovered the following:

1.) Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, the cemetery next to the national cemetery, are two Confederates. The soldiers' graves have two Confederate style
markers (pointed tops).

They are (information taken from the markers)

-- Hooper P. Caffey, private, Co. H, Alabama Infantry, CSA, born March 26, 1837, died Sept. 13, 1863 -- (Broadfoot’s lists an H.P. Caffey in the 3rd
(Alabama) Infantry.

-- Serg. Matthew Goodson, Co. F, 52 N.C. Infantry, CSA, born Feb. 19, 1828, died July 12, 1863. (Broadfoot’s lists him with Co. A)

Note: The markers are located in the Civil War section. They are in the second row from the drive.
