Dear Judith,
My Joseph Fawver/Fauver is the son of Joseph Fauver and Elizabeth Rhodes. My Joseph Fawver married Mary Ann Getts or Getz. He was a shoemaker. He was in Shenandoah county Virginia in 1850 and then in Jefferson county TN in the 1860 census. ( I was born in Jefferson county TN). He had many children, one being my ggg grandmother, Susan Fawver. I have found that this Fawver family fought in the civil war on the Union side. Joseph was supposed to have went off to war and never came back so I have heard but I am not for sure. My Susan Fawver married Adam C Campbell, who was also a union soldier. They lived in Cocke county, Green county and Jefferson county Tennessee.
My mother remembers that her grandmother, Pearl Campbell, told her that HER grandmother, (which would be Susan Fawver Campbell) that there was a connection with the Sevier family. I did find that the Sevier family was in the same county as the Fawvers but I have never found a genealogy connection. This family took me years to find because of the spelling of the last name. I have Susan Fawver Campbell's death certificate. Her parents are listed but the last name could be many various spellings as its hard to read. I finally found help on line after years of looking for the wrong surnames and of course once I found who she really was I found loads of family out there willing to help.
Most of this family and their lines of decendents are in Hamblen county tn and in Knox county TN. There is a creek named Fawver Creek, I pass it every time I go to Jefferson county. One of Jospeh Fawvers sons had a farm right in Knox county and they named the creek after him. I don’t know of any Pink Fawver but I would bet there is a connection. If I can help you in anyway..please just let me know. I have used census documents to try and make sure my linage is correct. I do know that my ggg grandmother was the daughter of Joseph Fawver and Mary Anne Getts....this is on her death certificate even though Fawver is mispelled. Let me know if I can help you in anyway.
