After more research I realize that Shenandoah County is very close to Augusta County and since Augusta County was once very large, the area of what is now Shenandoah County, may once have been called Augusta County. The North River watershed is in the same area that Shenandoah County is now. It is in a county called Rochingham. Both Counties are near Harrisonburg, Virginia, and not far from Staunton.
We may be talking about the same Joseph Fauver.

Joseph was the ninth child of Elizabeth Roades and John Fauver and married someone named Ann. they married in 1804 in Shenandoah Co. VA. I found that information at Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site, under descendants of Valentine Rood.
