My great grandfather was Joseph C. Fauver, b. 1837, in Augusta County Virginia. My family has a photograph of him, and he has a very strong jaw. I don't know the name of his wife, but I personnaly knew all three of his daughters. Pink Fauver was born in 1874, and Effie Fauver was born January 1, 1883. I can't find the birth date of my grandmother Lucy French Fauver. I have a SS# for Effie Fauver and know that she was living at The Hermitage, a Methodist assisted living facility that is still thriving, when she died. She died in 1964.
I don't think this is the same Joseph Fauver as yours, but thought you might be interestd. I would enjoy hearing from anyone who knows more about how Joseph Fauver got to the area around Staunton, Virginia.
North River, Augusta County, Virginia, is listed as the location where the census was taken in 1880.
