Hope this helps. This is what I've been able to glean
thus far. It may or may not apply to you and your
specific family.

The orginal German spelling was Faber. The spelling of the name was changed from Faber to Fauber to Fawver. Another option would be Faerber with or without an umlaut. (looks
like a colon horizontally).

IF FRENCH: Faber/Fauber/Fanver/Fabure, but it could also be LeFebvre, Lefèvre, Lafave, Lefebure, Lefever... (Faubert is a common French name not to be confused with Lefebvre says another source)

HOLLAND: Farvour / Denmark: Farver

In our family, I see the following used almost
interchangeably: Farber/Fauber/Farver
and Fauber/Fauver

Phew! Ain't genealogy grand!
