Farlow Family Genealogy Forum

Dear Betsy Farlow, In my brief foray into this website it seems that you know more about the UK Farlows than anyone else. Did you know that there is a village called Farlow in the county of Shropshire (near the Welsh border). At one time the area around Farlow, which is in the middle of the county of Shropshire, was designated as part of another county, Herefordshire although I have not been able to ascertain why this happened. Many years ago a very sweet man called Archie Farlow (retired Royal Navy) in Northfleet in Kent carried out extensive research into the family and I still have two letters which he wrote to my father in 1971 which gave us quite a lot of information about our family. I am sure he is long-since dead, although I seem to have made a note of a Gus Farlow in Dedham, near Colchester in Essex - perhaps his son? Archia had apparently compiled an index containing about 3000 names from circa 1100. Quite an undertaking I would have thought. Best wishes, Anna Farlow, 20 Lyndale Avenue, London NW2 2QA
