There is an Allred family site called the Allred Family Roster. From there I got this:

"...Some of the information you have listed for the Allred family in the 1700's and earlier is wrong. An example is your information about Thomas Allred born about 1730 Northumberland Co., VA who married Elizabeth Diffee. We have proven that Thomas Allred was not born in Northumberland County, VA and he was not related to the Aldridge family who lived there. Also, Elizabeth Diffee married William Allred who was actually an Elrod but changed his name to Allred shortly after arriving in North Carolina in the 1750's. You can read more about our research and findings on our AFO web site at <http://www.allredfamily.org/original_research_report.htm> .
More about Thomas Allred can be found on our web site at <http://www.allredfamily.org/thomas.htm> . More about the

other early Allreds can be found at <http://www.allredfamily.org/new_page_2.htm>

By coincidence, we found the graves of William Allred and his wife Elizabeth Diffee Allred this week. Photos of their graves are on the web site at <http://www.allredfamily.org/william.htm>

They have Thomas' wife as Elizabeth Twiggs daughter of William Twiggs and Elizabeth UNKNOWN.

Hope this helps!
