I'm just doing a bit of digging on my family name when I came across these pages. My name is "also" David Dews. I live in Malvern, Worcestershire, England. I used to live in the Wirral near Liverpool where my late grandfather Clifford Dews used to be involved in the Cotton trade taking cotton from the Liverpool docks and selling it to the Lancashire Cotton Mills. His brother was based in the USA (not sure where) where cotton was grown and arranged export of it to the UK as part of a family arrangment - then the first world war broke out ...
