Gail, Do you have any McDonalds in your database? My ggggg-grandfather Jean-Baptiste McDonald was the husband of a Therese SOREAU, a spelling variant of SAUREAU. They resided in Montreal in the mid-late 1700s. I know this from the marriage record of their son, John McDonald, who married Susanne Quesnel in St. Charles, Missouri, ca. 1800. Do you have any Therese Saureau who might be in the right age bracket to have been my ancestor. It's a rather uncommon surname, so I suspect she was connected with your line.
