The "Oregon Trail" written by Francis Parkman and published in 1849 recounts the journey of Parkman and three others one of whom, the muleteer, is named Deslaurier. From the text, it appears that he was a resident of Westport Missouri in 1846. Has anybody ever researched this individual?
