You have a Maine connection...I don't know if my search ties into your line in any way but I'm looking for information on a John Dame b. abt 1770 in Maine, he married a Emma Wadwell sometime before 1800 and they had a son Timothy Dame born July 1800 in what is now Milton, NH but at that time was part of Rochester. I believe they also had a son named John in about 1804. It seems one or both parents died not too long after. Timothy and John ended up in Reading, MA. John died from a lightning strike in 1819, Timothy married Sarah Reed, had several children and died in Reading in 1896. The parents names came from the Reading death register. That gave Emma's place of birth as North Reading which goes with what was on census. Timothy had stated that his father was born in Maine and his mother in Mass.
