After searching through some old family boxes and other such items i came across some civil war items. One if the items was a patch that states "Monumental Day" Asheville N.C. November 8, 1905. Well it turns out that the monument was unveiled to Gen. Clingman and our very own COL. W.B. CREASMAN. Although it is not known why he resigned from the army, he must have done something special to have his own monument. If anyone has any info on what this "special" thing was please e-mail me and let me know. Thanks
