In reading a history of Francis Marion, it states his oldest son married a Cordes. Did not know his mother was a Cordes. My ancestor married into the Cordes family of Charleston, Santee in c 1754, I would have to look this up for more precise date. He served under "Swamp Fox" in American Revolution. I do not know what Cordes family but some of them had to have had children in order for my ancestor daughter to have married Samuel Cordes.
