Clarence Clement West Virginia c. 1879

Does anyone have any information about Clarence Clement(s) I believe was born in West Virginia in late 1870's or early 1880's? He died in Yakima, Washington in the 1940's - I believe he traveled west as a very young man to Washington state. I have a few pictures, and he looked to have dark hair, dark eyes and freckles by his pictures as a young man-very handsome features-had the look of French blood. I speculate his hair may have been a very dark auburn due to the obviously freckled skin. I believe his father was BJ (guess: Benjamin James?) and his mother was Viola. BJ died and Viola had a second marriage to a man named Brown, as Dad referred to her as "Grandma Brown" - I think she ended up in California. I believe he had brothers (at least one supposedly a horse thief), and there has been family lore about being related to the James family (James gang). Clarence married Maude Lindsay and was my grandfather. We are having a heck of a time finding info about his geneology. My father (James) was born in 1921 when Clarence and Maude were in their mid-40's and was a "surprise" - an only child, so there is quite a generation gap - so not much is known about the Clement side in our family. I believe Clarence added the "s" to the name and used "Clements" to distinguish himself and his name from a brother who liked to live on the other side of the law. My brother has a fine old maroon and gold china shaving mug that says "Clement" so we know the "s" was added recently. Thanks for any information you may have.
