I don't know much about my great- grandfather's family. He was born JOHN EDWARD CLEMENT around 1870 in MARION KENTUCKY. To my knowledge he had only one sister "Belle" (may have been nickname for Anabelle or other). Aunt Eula had the family bible at the family home in KY (according to my grandmother). I don't know that Aunt Eula ever married....She supposedly lived in the family home in Marion KY. JOHN EDWARD CLEMENT married three times, wife#1 NAME UNKNOWN - one child EDITH CLEMENT HIGGINBOTTOM wife#2 EULA KING, Burnsville, MS - children JOHN EDWARD CLEMENT JR, MILDRED BAILEY, DAISY DAVIS, KATHERINE (KIT)WHITE, ____ YARBER, LORA LAMBERT, WALTER CLEMENT, AND ANN SHOOK. Wife#3 EMMA RUGGS - no children JOHN EDWARD CLEMENT was a man of many talents. In the late 1800's, he travelled the south as a professional photographer. In the 1920-30's He owned movie theaters in Burnsville, Iuka, Tishomingo and Belmont, Mississippi. He owned a lumber yard and construction company in Belmont, MS which he later gave to his son-in-law DAVID FLAVOUS LAMBERT, SR. (my grandfather) I know that JOHN EDWARD CLEMENT made 4 fortunes in his lifetime....lost three. According to local old-timers, he never failed to pay his debts and was highly regarded in the community. MY GRANDMOTHER SAID THAT HE LEFT KENTUCKY AS A YOUNG MAN TO SEEK HIS FORTUNE AS A PHOTOGRAPHER. I BELIEVE HIS PARENTS DIED BEFORE HE LEFT HOME. ANY ASSISTANCE YOU CAN OFFER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Notify Administrator about this message?
