I'm playing a long shot with this, but over Christmas I heard an interesting family story that has been forgotten (on purpose) for many years. A brother of my grandfather borrowed money from their father and took his family to New York and set up a brewery. The borrowed money was never repaid, (hence why they were never talked about) My mother cannot remember any of the names. I would guess that this family arrived in New York prior to the start of prohibition, which would have sunk their business and made it impossible to repay the loan. The father, who provided the loan, was Jakob Michael Claus (known as Johann) I know this is not much to go on but if this is familiar to anyone please get in touch. Thanks Ted Notify Administrator about this message?
