Hi there,

I am doing a bit of ressearch on my Claus family line. I have a John Riley Claus in direct descendants. He was born 1854 in Germany and migrated to the US. He is recorded in Stephenson County, Illinois in 1880 census. Family folklore says that he dissapeared and I have one source that says he died around 1889. So would be possible that he married again out of state. I have his father listed as George and mother Eva Demure. Let me know if you think there is any connection.
