My great grandmother was Erna Claus( Erna was the daughter of Herman Claus and Lina Rust)...I have quite alot on COrd and Willehemina..I am the granddaughter of Robert(Erna's son) and Helen Schrieber, and the daughter of Sharon Schrieber and Harry Brown...I am particularly interested in any help anyone can give me on the Rust family connection to the Claus's...and the Seehausen's. Erna's mother, Lina died very young, 37 years old I think of TB...I have recently been in contact with someone who believes a Henry Rust from Crown Point might of been Lina's brother...he has no further information on the Rusts either..but I do know that Lina was the daughter of William Rust and Christine Cooling..both born in Germany...but no other information there...family legend from the Rust's say there were more brothers and sisters. The Claus family and local Brunswich natives were a tight woven community..and I was hoping someone might remember the Rust's and Lina and how they might work into the family....Did Lina come to america as a adult..or with her parents and siblings? And where did they live at if so..how did she come to meet Herman..Throught the zion church? St John's maybe? ANything you can help with will help..I would like to know more about how Brunswich was settled...I heard it was brought lock stock and barrel..citizens and all..from hanover Germany..and they settled together there, making a new Hanover...hence...Hanover township...what do u know about that legend? I am from Hebron by the way...and do you know why Erna and CHarles Schrieber did not marry until Robert was about 12 years old? Before Erna died..we asked...all she said is.."Marie Schrieber would not allow it..." ANy clues? I sense a family story here.. Any help would be great..
