I am trying to determine who Emily Crouch was who married William Woodson in Shelby Co., TN 26 Aug 1841 (#1363, John T. Ellis, security; D. P. Coffy, M. G.). I am descended from John E. Crouch and his wife Nancy W. Vaughan, who came to TN from Alabama, and prior to that from Goochland Co., VA. By 1850 they were in Poinsett Co., Arkansas. John and Nancy had a number of children whose names are still unknown, one of whom was of an age to be Emily. The Woodsons and Crouches were connected in Goochland County, I know. I have found Emily, seemingly widowed, on the 1860 and 1870 censuses of Shelby Co., with four daughters including Nancy, Lucy, Sallie, and Jennie. The girls were all born by 1850. I would appreciate any information that would shed light on this family. |
