You mentioned interest in Emaline Rousseau. She married Augustus Jackson Abbott in Baldwin County GA Aug 13, 1837. I'm interested in any info on Emaline as well.

Here is some info on Augustus Jackson Abbott:
DEATH: Alabama Case #A-1-2 5/2/1873; Probate Court Files 1866-1900, Wills & Administrations. Probate minutes B:3,4,47,67,70,147,157,194,225.
Augustus was appointed postmaster of Abbeville, Alabama May 6, 1854 and served for seven months.

BIOGRAPHY: Augustus' mother-in-law's half brother Ignatius A. Few was appointed in 1827 as a Commissioner by the Governor of Georgia to establish Columbus a "trading town." This could explain Augustus' and his brothers move from Milledgeville to Columbus, a potential area of opportunity for the Abbotts. Augustus and Emeline were married in 1837 and had moved to Columbus by 1840 when their second child was born.
