Thanks for the clarification. This is the way I now see it. Descendants of Caleb Ralph        1        Caleb Ralph       1820 - ..              +Susan       July 24, 1821 - April 03, 1851 .       2        Charles Ralph       1844 - .       2        John Ralph       1847 - March 28, 1919 .....              +Clara        .       2        Francis Ralph       1849 - 1858               *2nd Wife of Caleb Ralph:        ..              +Mary Ann Messler       1821 - .       2        Jane E. Ralph       1855 - .       2        Francis Ralph       1858 - .       2        William Henry Ralph       1860 - 1937 .....              +Jane Bannon       1863 - 1924 Loucindra must have been born by Mary and a previous husband. This would explain the time between Loucindra's birth and Jane's birth. Charles is 16 in 1860 and I think show's up on page 39 of the census. Since Caleb and Mary named their son Francis the first Francis must have died. And John is living next door with Granddad and Grandmom. I don't know where my Father got Susan's information from but he had been looking through Wedding announcements and Obituaries in old Newspaper microfiche (The Daily True American and The NJ State Gazette)and may have come across the obit of Caleb's 1st wife Susan (all I have are his notes). It's late I hope this makes sense. If you live in the area maybe you can check the microfiche to obtain a copy at the state archives. BTW I'm descendant from John Ralph and Clara. They are my 2nd Great Grandfather and mother. Walter Anthony
