Hi Cousin Dick, Thank you for scanning the 2 obituaries and sending them to me via email. It is interesting that in the obit. of Mrs. Rufus VanWormer's obit. from the Jefferson County Journal, April 19, 1892, who d. April 18, 1892, and was born at South Trenton, Oneida Co., NY, She may have been releated to a Mr. Pennell, a native of Vermont who emigrated from VT [Vermont] to Oneida County, New York, in 1804, when the "Deerfield Hill" section of the county was a wilderness. She had three children, who survie her: John R. Van Wormer, of New York; Mrs. ______ of East Aurora, NY, and Mrs. Flora M* *Saylor, of Adams, NY. [My note: Mrs. Flora Van Wormer Taylor DAR ID Number: 25823, born in Adams, New York, Wife of Bayard Taylor.] ================================================ Also, from the Watertown New York Daily Times - Oct. 27, 1909 the obit. of John Rufus VanWormer, born in Adams, NY, March 14, 184_, reads <excerpt> "Rufus Van Wormer, a son of Abraham Van Wormer, married Eunice M. Bullock, whose family emigrated from Vermont to Bellevile, this county, in 1895, the first year settlers came into Jefferson county. Also, have you seen the alternative surname spelling VANORNAM or VANORNEM for VAN WORMER? Thank you again for your help in connecting our PENNELL or PENNEL families.
