It was a different one, Betty. Bartley Pace who married Elizabeth Taylor was the son of Silas Pace Jr. 1 Richard (-1738) m. Rebecca 2 Richard (1699-) m. Elizabeth 3 Silas (-1802) m. Mary Newsome 4 Silas Jr (-1811) m. Elizabeth Foreman 5 Bartley Martin Pace m. Eliz Taylor Although the family of Richard (1699-) did spend time in Johnston Co, around the mid 1700s, I don't think the given name of Bartley Martin Pace came from that time. I speculate that he might have been named after Bartley Martin, a prominent Edgefield resident who served as a captain during the Rev War. That's just a guess though. Sarah Pace, one of the sisters of Bartley Martin Pace, was my third great grandmother. James
