I am looking for information on William Wilkinson & Parthenia KIRKPATRICK White. William Wilkinson White was born about 1835 in South Carolina & moved to Georgia sometime before 1861, was a school teacher & lawyer in Cobb County. On 31 May 1861 he enlisted as a Captain in Company I, Seventh Infantry Regiment Georgia; promoted to Colonel 30 August 1862 & retired from the CSA 27 July 1864 due to his wounds received in action, namely his throat wound received at Garnett's Farm which left William's voice as a whisper. William married Pauline KIRKPATRICK 12 January 1866. I believe Pauline to be the daughter of Thomas M. & Parthenia PACE Kirkpatrick of Cobb County born about 1836 (Pauline's birth), my fifth great-uncle & aunt through my fifth great-grandfather & grandmother Hardy & Lucy KIRKSEY Pace. So far I have not been able to find a census record with William & Pauline, or at least Pauline for Bruce Allardice says William died shortly after the war & may be buried in Citizens Cemetery in an unmarked grave, where his wife is buried. Thank you for any help on William & Pauline, & I will gladly share what I have on this family. Lena |
