Flossie Clevinger Meade, 92, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN,
born in Haysi, VA, on September 4, 1916, passed away
Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Wexford House.

Flossie was a member of Grace Covenant Church and had
attended Oakwood Forest Christian Church. Flossie had been
a self-employed beautician for a number of years in
Abingdon, VA.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton
Clevinger; second husband, Carter Meade; father and
mother, Robert Lee and Virgie Lee Poston; sisters, Hazel
Lichtenfels and Pearl Purcell; brothers, Richard Lee and
Roy Lee; and grandson, Stan Clevinger.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and
Shirley Clevinger, Kingsport, TN, Ernest 'Red' and
Charlotte Clevinger, Kingsport, TN, and Tommy and Patty
Meade, Denver, CO; sisters and husbands, Faye and Roy
Gregory, Eustis, FL, Shirley Hinchey, Stephens City, VA;
brother and wife, Bob and Sue Lee, Bluff City, TN; grand-
children, Ed Clevinger and wife, Vicki, Cindy Hardee, Tony
Clevinger, Julia Chatman and husband Tim; two great-grand-
daughters, Candace Chatman and Leah Chatman; several nieces
and nephews; a special sister-in-law, Ann Lee Kiernan; and
a special nephew, Harold Lee.

The family would like to thank all of the staff and friends
at The Place of Kingsport for their love, care, and support
during Flossie's stay.

The family would also like to express their gratitude to
the entire staff and hospice nurses at Wexford House;
especially, Bernice, Carolyn, Linda, Jennifer, Pam, and
Renee; also to Flossie's special friends, Cansada Long and
Mara Branham.

The family received friends Monday, April 20, 2009, from
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Grace Covenant Church, 2001 American
Way, Kingsport, TN. Services were at 8 p.m., with Dr. Ed
Clevinger and Marlin Jaynes officiating.

Interment was at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon, VA, on
Tuesday, April 21, 2009.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to
Grace Covenant Church, P.O. Box 7532, Kingsport, TN 37664
or to Oakwood Forest Christian Church, 1713 E. Sevier
Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37662.
