Norman Litz 1912-2004 Norman Litz, a 56-year resident of Drain, died Feb. 20 at the age of 91 from age-related causes. A service and interment will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Drain City Cemetery. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 15, 1912, in Bassett, Neb., to Ora and Anna Litz. He grew up and attended school in Bassett, Neb. He married Leona Sybrandt of Ainsworth, Neb., Sept. 19, 1936. He worked as a mill worker at Weyerhaeuser Co. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed building toy and full-size furniture. He volunteered at "Past 45" arts and craft store. He was a member of and past post commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2468 in Roseburg. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors include three sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Max Morrow of Owasso, Mich., Yvonne and Harold Arter of Oral, S.D., and Marylou and Harvey Rodgers of Riverton, Wyo.; brother and sister-in-law: Rolland and Virginia Litz of Bassett, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 2468, Roseburg, OR. Appeared in Cottage Grove Sentinel February 25, 2004. |
