Mrs. Violet DeLong died Friday afternoon at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 10 days at the home of a son, Charles DeLong, on the Spring Grove farm, west of the city. The deceased was the widow of Isaac DeLong, whose death occurred nineteen years ago. Mrs. DeLong was born in Fort Wayne but lived in Aboite township practically all her life. Surviving she leaves the following nine children: Will DeLong, of Poe; Mrs. Lizzie Schieferstein, Mrs. Bertha Hennings and Mrs. Rose Johnson, of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Minnie Guisenger and Carl DeLong, of Aboite township, and Edward DeLong, of Roanoke. Two children preceded her in death. Surviving relatives include ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and the following four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Mary Stahl, Centralia, Ill.; Mrs. Jane Coleman, Clinton, Ill.; Mrs. Rebecca Cordler, North Manchester; Mrs. Linda Conde, Elkhart, and Charles Kiser, of Fort Wayne.
