Christine, Mark Sabol has already responded to your similar message on RootsWeb where he informed you that Roman Catholic records for Leles/Lelesz were available for you to look at at your local Family History Center. Miklos's 1910 immigration record says he had been in the U.S. previously 1902-1910, though I have not found a record for that trip. An Anna Kobak is listed as immigrating from Lelesz in 1902 to her brother Franz(?) in Lorain OH. Could she be Miklos's wife? The age is off a little. There are a dozen or so immigrants from Lelesz in the Ellis Island records (including those who are mistranscribed as Martan instead of Marton). Of course it is a common name, so you need to be careful. You should be able to figure out from the church records which of these may be siblings or other relatives. If you are not familiar with searching in the LDS microfilms, let us know. Lots of people will be happy to help. Janet |
