JoBeth, Yes, we are probably cousins, and maybe more than once, since I am also related to the Gerard family of Virginia through another branch. Catherine Herzog (Hartsock or Hartstock) was a daughter of Peter and Anna Margaretha (Koontz) Herzog, born before 18 Aug 1743 when she was baptized at the First Reformed Church in Raritan, New Jersey. She was the second wife of William Barrick. He was born about 1727 in Frederick County, the son of Johann and Johnata (Andreas)Berg. They were married on 23 May 1778, probably in Frederick County. They had two children that I know of: Michael, born 1779; and Sarah, born about 1781. William's first wife was Eva Maria Kramer, born about 1730 in Frederick County, and died there in 1772. I do not know her parents. She was the mother of your Catherine, who was born around 1760 in Maryland and died on 18 Apr 1841 in Frederick County. Hannah Ann Hartsock, who married Isaiah Norwood was the great granddaughter of Peter and Anna Margaretha (Koontz) Herzog, through hwer parents, John and Catherine (Fox) Hartsock; her grandparents, Hendrick and Anna Maria (Howard) Hartsock; to Peter and Anna Margaretha. I would very much like to trade information and add what you have to mine if at all possible. Thanks and please keep in touch. John |
