i am interested in the above families, and others, per my interest in my harris/ hudson/ goode/ cannon/ rodgers, etc families in lunenburg/ mecklenburg; prince edward; and charlotte cos, va.

for years i have been trying to confirm, as my research indicates, that my william harris, sr/ frances goode, daughter of my mackerness goode, sr, who were in lunenburg co, va by 1746 and associated there with william harris/ judith hudson; my goode family; and same families, was the son, william, of william and judith hudson harris.

per 1765 mecklenburg co, va deed, my william harris, sr/ frances goode sold to james hall land on the middle fork of the bluestone creek.

per 1766 mecklenburg co, va deed, edward bevill and, wife, parker, sold land to abraham burton land on allens creek, which was witnessed by james hall. this was the same james hall/ wife, martha, who died 1794 edgefield co, sc.

james hall, wife, martha's daughter sarah hall married richard winn, who was involved with the estate of judith hudson harris ca 1796 mecklenburg co, va.

my mackerness goode, sr's sons samuel goode and mackerness goode, jr sold their land in laurens co, sc in 1789 to rev richard shackleford and also moved to edgefield co, sc. they were involved there with the same burt family who witnessed james hall's will.

richard shackleford was enumerated on the 1790 census laurens co, sc adjacent or near my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers, son of my william harris, sr/ frances goode.

info shows that parker pride bevill, wife of edward bevill, was the daughter of john pride, son of william pride, jane halcott. it was also their son halcott pride's widow, martha, who re-married before 1725 henrico co, va peter hudson, sr, father of judith hudson harris.

halcott pride, wife, martha's daughter ann pride married ca 1732 thomas cheatham and her sister mary pride married francis cheatham. thomas cheatham, son of francis cheatham/ mary pride, married hannah rudd, daughter of john rudd/ hannah russell.

john rudd/ hannah russell's daughter jane rudd married before 1753 chesterfield co, va simcock cannon, grandfather of my jane cannnon, who married my charles harris 1807 pendleton dist, sc.

my simcock cannon was also in prince edward and charlotte co, sc va and associated there with the same godfrey jones also associated with my william harris, sr/ frances goode in lunenburg co, va.

janet in her post no. 676 re "cheathams of chesterfield co, va" shows these connections re the cheathams with the prides; my rudds; my samuel goode, sr; peter hudson, sr; etc in this henrico co, va area, including this deed:

9 nov 1677, thomas cheatham was a witness to a deed between william harris and thomas wells. (henrico co, va wills/ deeds, pg. 39.)

who was this thomas wells and which william harris of henrico co, va sold this land to thomas wells?

we are in the harris dna project and are in the group said to trace back to captain thomas harris of jamestown 1611 and his son, major william harris of henrico co, va.

my charles harris, who died 1865 greene co, arkansas, was the son of my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers, who died 1799 laurens co, sc. my frances rodgers harris, per my william harris, jr's laurens co, sc estate papers and laurens co, sc deeds, was the daughter of john rodgers, sr, son of andrew rodgers, who died 1755 lunenburg co, va.

my charles harris/ jane cannon's son, my archibald harris, who married elizabeth carter, daughter of my robert carter, jr, born 1780 laurens co, sc, was in 1830 in gwinnett co, ga; 1840 paulding co, ga; and died 1869 in cleburne co, al.

their son, my g-g grandfather, james harris/ anne cooper died 1872 paulding co, ga.

i would appreciate hearing from anyone with an interest in these and other of these same individuals and families per my interest in my own families.

thanks.
