I found three Brignacs who died in Maurepas, LA Alice Brignac, b. 31 July 1895, d. Jan. 1981, SS# 435-80-6434 - If our ancestors were still living in the early 1960s during the Johnson Administration when Medicare was implemented they were assigned a SS# so they could collect Medicare benefits, Could this be Joseph's Mother? Ella Brignac, b. 16 Jan. 1930, d. 24 Aug. 1993, SS# 436-56-6662 - could this be Joseph's wife? Joseph Brignac, b. 3 Jan 1922, d. June 1990, SS#438-24-3605 To learn who Joseph's parents were, go to the funeral home in Maurepas and ask for a copy of his death certificate. The funeral home is responsibile for reporting deaths to the SSDI. Ask for photocopies of death certificates for Alice and Ella as well. The funeral home also arranges for obits to be published. Ask at the funeral home if this was done? Rosie
