Brignac Ancestors:

Simon Jacques Brignac died where he spent most of his adult life, at Fort Toulouse, AL, August 10, 1754, while a member of Gourdon's company. Source: Glenn R. Conrad "The First Families of Louisiana", V. II, p. 160

His widow lived near her married children and migrated with them to the Opelousas Country after the general discharge in 1763. When Marie Turpin Brignac died, she was laid to rest among her children and grandchildren in Opelousas. Source: Janice Dietch Young, 1012 Cleary Avenue, Metairie, Louisiana, July 24, 1978 "The Brignac Family and Their Relatives in Louisiana", p. 3
