My Beaton ancestor is Margaret, daughter of Alexander Beaton and Flora Cameron, Alexander was the son of Alexder and Anne MacBain. Margaret married Duncan MacKillop and their daughter, Anne, married Duncan Campbell. It was Anne that immigrated to Nova Scotia after Duncan Campbell died. They became known as the "York" Campbells. This I learned from the book Mabou Pioneers....you are correct...an excellent source!
