Hi, my name is Svatopluk Babin. I am from Slovakia (although I live in Toronto, Canada now, where everybody thinks that my last name is French). Last name Babin is used in Slovakia too, although not very often. There is also a village called Babin. The name itself in translation means grandmother's, or older woman's.
