From the “Desert Sun”, Palm Springs CA – Maria Alvarez January 2002 Maria Mayorga Alvarez, 70, of Coachella died Jan. 11, 2002, in Coachella. She was born Sept. 6, 1931, to Jesus and Gregoria Rodriguez Mayorga in Santa Rosa, Guanajuato, Mexico. She married Evaristo A. Alvarez in 1947 in Santa Rosa, Guanajuato, Mexico. She was a homemaker.She is survived by her husband, Evaristo of Coachella; five sons, Armando, Luis and Danny, all of Coachella, Victor of Moreno Valley and David of Bakersfield; four daughters, Hermilda Sandoval of Arvin, Francisca Rico of Irepuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, Terecita of Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico and Diana of Coachella; two sisters, Maria de Jesus Sanchez and Juanita Mayorga, both of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico; five brothers, Soledad Villegas of Mexico City and Ignacio Mayorga, Andres Mayorga, Miguel Mayorga and Nicolas Mayorga, all of Leon, Guanajuata, Mexico; 31 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons. Private services and inurnment are under the direction of Chapel of the Palms Funeral Home in Coachella
