My 3ggrandfather was William F or M Caldwell, b. 1816, KY. Married perhaps Sarah I Shipp, Pendleton Co., KY 1835. William had a brother Joseph and they both were in an IL northern unit during the Civil War. William had two children, John (also in civil war) and Martha Frances Caldwell (Mattie) who married Reese Samuel LaRoe. William lived til 1894 and died in Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, OK (now Vinita, Craig Co., OK). He is buried in the Fairview Cemetery there.
Does any of this come close to your information? I see you listed his wife as Sarah Jane Beatty. I doubt our William had more than one wife since Sarah was supposedly the informant on the death of son John. We have just recently found that marriage information from Pendleton co., KY. We have yet to discover when or where Sarah died.
