I know this is a shot in the dark, but I'm going to try anyawy... I'm trying to do research on my husband's family (which grew up in Cabin Creek, Kanawha Co., WV) and his grandfather was Elmer Clarence Perry b. 02 Jan 1903 and d. 24 Jan 1987. Elmer's mother was Augadell Perry b. 02 Mar 1880 and d. 04 Aug 1908. We know nothing of Elmer's father...other than his name was John Caldwell and he possibly had Elmer with Augadell but they never married. Some family members aren't even sure if he was a resident of the area, or just 'passing through'. When Elmer's mother died in 1908, Elmer went to live with his maternal grandmother, Lucy (Mash) Perry.
If anyone has any info on this mystery of 'John Caldwell', we would greatly appreciate it. I know this may be a touchy subject if it is your family member, but we would merely like info for family history...not looking to contact family members to meet, or anything. Thank you!
