I am doing research for a book I am writing and would like any information concerning the Andrew Jackson Caldwell (1818-1866)family from Octagon Hall Plantation, Simpson County, Kentucky. I am especially interested in the Civil War period,Feb 1862 when 12,000 troops camped on the grounds of Octagon Hall.I would also like to know why Andrew Jackson Caldwell did not join up as a soldier.
