William Searcy & Rosanna Wallace Searcy of Perry Co, MO sold two tracts of land to William Shannon on 12-11-1822. They also sold personal property left from the estate of Margaret Tuttle to Rosanna W Searcy on the same day.

William Searcy (b.1777), born in Granville Co, NC, was the son of Reuben Searcy (b.1729). William attained adulthood while his father lived in Madison Co, KY. He followed an older brother Robert Searcy to TN. Robert became a prominet citizen of Nashville, TN and owned a bank; the brothers had a store house in Franklin, Williamson Co, TN, which they mortgaged in 1804. William lived in Livingston Co, KY in 1806 & 1807 (last record in KY - was a Power of Attorney to his brother Robert for lands they owned jointly).

William's first record in MO that I've found is the sale of land in 1822. I believe he was still there in 1840.

What light can you shed on:
1. Rosanna, as to where she came from and when she may have arrived in MO?
2. Do you know when they married, or how did you tie her to William Searcy?
3. What significance do the Tuttle's have?
Thanks
Terry Searcy
