My name is Arnold Birch Caines.
I am the son of Holly Birch Caines, 1912-1964
Grandfather: John Richard Caines, 1879-1943
Great-Grandfather: John Thomas Caines, 1858-1928
Great-Great: William Hazleton Caines, 1830-1910
Great X3: Jim(?) Caines, 1790's(?)-????
I am to understand that Jim Caines sailed from somewhere around Maryland to near Georgetown SC. My father was born in Atlanta GA and raised in Tabor City NC. He left Tabor City at approx. 14 and moved in with his uncle (after whom he was named) in Detroit MI. He later moved to NY where he married and had two kids. He moved to Los Angeles CA, his wife didn't, they got divorced. He met my mother and had three more kids of whom I am the youngest. He died when I was three weeks old. My sisters and I have long since moved away from California and now reside in the Pacific Northwest.
Uncles of my father include: Cherry Beech, Holly Birch, and Sam Kinchen(sp?).
Do any of these names sound familiar? I would like to get to know relatives in any of ther areas mentioned.
