R.A. CAIN, the oldest preacher in Texas

I have a copy of The Texas Baptist Herald from 31 Oct 1901. In it is a wonderful article about Dr. R. A. Cain, who was the oldest preacher in Texas at that time, having been born 10 Feb 1804 in Matterson County, West Tennessee.

His first wife, Nancy Evans, died in July 1868. Their two children were killed by Indians in 1855. His second wife was Mary Edward. She and their two children died in the Galveston flood.

If he is one of yours and you would like to have a copy of the article, please let me know and I will scan it for you. I cannot provide any information about him other than what is in the article. I am not related, but just wanted to share my good luck in running across this old newspaper.
