I'm looking for parents for Thomas Cain, merchant tailor and draper of Liverpool. He died there on 16 April 1814, aged 58 so must have been born c1756. In his will he mentions a brother, William, of the Isle of Man, which makes me fairly sure that they was born there. (His son, Nathaniel Caine, was often referred to as a Manxman even though he was born in Liverpool).

Thomas married, first, Sarah Tyson (1756-1796) in Liverpool on 26 Jun 1780. They had 9 children. He then married Ann Sproston (1774-1857) in Chester on 13 Jan 1798 and had a further 7 children, including Nathaniel mentioned above.

If anyone knows of a Thomas born IoM at that time, with brother William I would be very interested. His first sons were named William, John and Thomas which could be a clue as to his own father's name.
