Looking for information about Matilda Ann Clark(e) 28 June 1846 - 16 February 1920. Married Thomas Chapman Cain 1865 in IL. Her obit indicates that she was adopted as a young girl by an aunt and uncle. However nothing is said about which side of her family they were from. Nor is there any mention whether Clark(e) was her birth name or an adopted name. I have her parents as Lucien Clark and _____Wilson. These are presumably her adopted parents.
