Looks like my James Cain spent most of his adult life in Ohio in Morgan County, Homer Township. He's buried in the Mountville Cemetery (1886).

His first born, Sarah, is listed on one Census as being born (March 1851) in New York, and on another Census as being born on the "ocean." This gives me an idea of when he came to the states.

I would like to continue the search in Ireland. All I have so far is a marriage record of a James Keane to an Eliza Edgar in 1850 in Drumgath. I'm trying to confirm that this is my James, so I'm hoping to find out when he changed his name from Keane to Cain and what ship he came to America on.

tnx...

jc
