Homer,

I think there may be two Mary L. Cains. There is a reference to Mary L. Cain marrying Elisha D. Moose. This is in Lumpkin County GA on 6 Jan 1878. According to your census record, she would be about 18 years old. Sherman couldn't have burned that record, so you should be able to get a copy. I don't know if parents are named on the certificate.

Uncle Joe did not send me anything on the Cain family.
