Set to John Cadwell Eldest son heir to the dec'd 4 acres and 32 rod of land at the west end of the home lot on wich stands the dweling house and the widow third on the east part of that and the right in the dweling house 4 pounds 8 shilling and 10 pence and the widows third to come out of that. To Matthew Cadwell heir to the dec'd 2 1/2 acres and 20 rods of land lying in the wood on the south side of the lot it being land that the dec'd bouth of Mr. Prat and the widows third at the west end if the law alows of it his right in the house is 2 pound 4 shilling and five pence and the widow third out of it. To Ann Cadwell heir to the dec'd 2 acres and 16 rod of land in the home lot in that part that was formerly Killoms Lot on the north side to begin at the east end and to take half of the breadth and run west whilst make? s'd Land by measure and the widow third to be taken at the west end of it and her right in the house is 2 pounds 4 shilling and five pence and the widows third to be taken out of it. To Abigaill Fox wife to Vaniah Fox, Heir to the dec'd 2 acres and 16 rods of land in the home lot on that port of it that was formerly Kilborns Lot beginning at the East end on the south side taking half the bredth and to run west whilst s'd land is measured and the widows third to come out of the west end of it and right in the house is 2 pounds 4 shiling and 5 pence and the widows third to come out of that. To Ruth Risly wife to Nath'l Risly heir to dec'd 2 1/2 acres and 20 rod of land in the woods on the north side of the home lot that the dec'd bought of W'm Prat and the widows third [illegible] if the law alows of it to her rite in the house 2 pounds 5 shilling and 5 pence and the widows third to come out of that. To Dorothy Cadwell heir to the dec'd 2 acres and 16 rod of land in the home lot buting on land lyed out to John west and Running east whilst s'd land is mesured out and the widows third on the west side of it and her part in the house is 2 pounds 5 shiling and 5 pence and the widow third to come out of it. To Susanah Cadwell heir to the dec'd 2 1/2 acres and 20 rods of land in the whole buting south on [land] laid out to Mathew it being land that the dec'd bought of Mr. Prat and the widows third out of it if the law alows of it at the west end her part of the house is 2 pounds 4 shiling and 5 pence and the widow third out of it. To Luce Cadwell heir to the dec'd 2 1/2 acres and 20 rods of land lying in wood north on land layd out to Ruth Risly and south on land layed out to Susanah it being land [illegible] that the dec'd bought of Mr. Prat and the widows third at the west end if the law alows of it to her part of the house 2 pounds 4 shilling and 5 pence and the widows third out of it. Item I give and Bequeath to Joanna Cadwell widow of my nephew Jonathan the Improvement of one certain piece of Land that I bought of Zachariah Kelsey containing about 6 acres further my will is that she shall have one room with a fire place in my dwelling house during her widowhood Further my will is that she shall have a cow to her own disposle further my will is that she shall have three sheep to her own disposle. Item I Give & Bequeath to Zacheus Butler Eldest son to Gideon Butler the one moiety of half part of my moveable Estate to be at his disposl forever except what I have given to Joanna Cadwell widow as above said. Item I Give & Bequeath to Zacheus Butler my Dwelling house & Barn & all other buildings & orchard joining to the house to him & his heirs & assigns forever. Item I Give & Bequeath to Timothy Cadwell son to Jonathan Cadwell deceased the orchard that was formerly my Brother Jeams Cadwells provided he lives to the age of 21 years these fore mentioned orchard shall contain land Equally a like measure to be at his dispose forever. Item I Give & Bequeath to Zaccheus Butler as aforesaid the one half of the rest of this Lot that I Live upon to him his heirs & assigns forever. Furthermore my will is that Timothy Cadwell as aforesaid shall have the other half of this Lot Equally Divided for quantity & quality between them to him his heirs & assignes forever. And all my other land shall be equally divided between them for quantity and quality to them & their heirs for ever provided the aforesaid Timothy Cadwell does arive to the age of 21 years. Furthermore my will is that if the aforesaid Timothy Cadwell does not arive to the age of 21 years that part that was given to him shall be Zacheus Butlers as aforesaid his & his heirs forever. Furthermore my will is the aforesaid Timothy Cadwell if he lives to age of 21 years shall have a horse & a yoke of oxen & my still. Item I hereby Will & bequeath to the Daughter of my s'd nephew Jonathan Cadwell dec'd to Anne I suppose her name to be 20<?> pounds Lawful Money out of my moveable Estate to be paid her by my Executor within one year after my decease and the hores & oxen & my still given to Timothy Cadwell aforesaid, if he should die before he arrive to 21 years & the s'd Anne survive then s'd oxen horse & still to be the property of the s'd Anne. I hereby appoint my Loving Wife Bethiah & my Kinsman Gideon Butler of Hartford to be my Executors to my last Will & Testament and I hereby declare this to be my last will & testament. Item I Give & Bequeath to my Well beloved Grandson Sheldon Cadwell Twenty Pounds to be Paid when he shall arrive to the age of twenty one but in case he Should Not Live the s'd twenty Pounds shall be equally Divided between the two other Children S'd Sum to be Paid out of my Estate by my Son Nathan. Item I give to my Beloved Daughter Zilpha my Red Linded Calf to be hers now & Eight Pounds to be Paid by my Son Nathan when She arrives to Eighten years of age. Item I give & Bequeath to My well beloved Son Nathan all My Estate Real & Personal not otherwise Disposd of to be Put in to his Possession in good Repair By Executor when he arrives to the age of one & twenty Except his Mothers Third of my real Estate which Shall be his at her Decease for his one use & Disposal forever. Item I make appoint My Well beloved Brother Aaron Cadwell My Sole Executor to this my Last will & Testament Ordering & Impowering him to Sell Convey & Dispose of two Pieces of Land bieng & lying near the house of William Wheeler none [known] by the name of my young ordhard the South Part or Pice Lyeth between the two Rodes the North Piece Cut of by the ___ Rode s'd Moneys arising from the Sale of the s'd Lands & Moneys Due on three Notes against Peletiah Alford & other Moneys that Shall be found Due to me to be applied to the Payment of all my Just Debts & Funeral Charges & further I order My Executor to Erect Decent Tomb Stones at my grave & further More if there is any money Left of the Sales of s'd Land it shall be applied to the Payment of the Legacys as they be Come Due further more it is my will that My Executor Take the Care of my Sons Nathans Estate to keep it in Repair Lease it & Pay the Legacies as they be Come Due while my Sone is under age further more if the moneys assigned for the Payment of my Debts shall not be Sufficient my Executor to pay them out of the rent of my son Nathans estate. We the Subscribers being Appointed by the Hon'ble Court of Probate for the district of Hartford to set out & distribute to Thankful Cadwell Widow to Mr. Joseph Cadwell Late of Hartford deceased have Agreeable to our Appointment the 9th day of April 1798 distributed and Set out to the said Thankful that part of the houses & Lands that the said deceased in his Last Will & Testament devised unto her in the Following manner. Viz, We Set out unto her - - - The East half of the Dwelling hosue with the privilege of Useing the Cellar Main Chamber Stairs & Garret Stairs in Common with Nathan Cadwell for to pass & Repass to their Respective Apartments Also to Use the kitchen fire place & oven in Common with Nathan.
